Category Manager - Retail (m/f/d)

Your tasks
Do you want to join our team? In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping and executing our retail assortment strategy to drive KoRo’s growth and success. You’ll collaborate closely with various departments to optimize our product selection, refine pricing strategies, and expand our market presence.

Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive assortment strategy to drive growth in the retail channel.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Online Insights, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure seamless product launches and ongoing category success.
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for retail expansion and differentiation.
  • Monitor KPIs such as sell-through rates, revenue growth, and margin performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Co-develop end-to-end product lifecycle, from selection and introduction to phase-out strategies.
  • Drive cross-functional projects to enhance operational efficiency and category performance.
Your profile
  • Min. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising within the FMCG or retail sector.
  • Experience working with retail partners, wholesalers, and distributors.
  • Optional: GS1  certified category manager or similar.
  • Strong communication skills in English and German
  • You live in Berlin or are open for a relocation for your new position.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and market trends to make strategic decisions.
  • Strong understanding of assortment planning, pricing strategies, and supplier negotiations.
  • Experience with Nielsen and/or GFK Data.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, BI tools, and ERP systems (Tableau, SAP, or similar preferred).
  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and commercially driven mindset.
